Polished…Etiquette and Image Development

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

On April 11, 2010 our Doll & Me Design and Tea event will be teaming up with Peggy Hinshaw, founder of Polished Etiquette and Image Development .  We thought Polished would be a perfect addition our Doll & Me Design and Tea class and the response has proven it was more than just a hunch.  With reservations streaming in, an additional class has now been added (April 18th at 1PM).  With daughters of their own, Peggy and JennaClaire owner, Daina felt that there just weren’t enough opportunities for “girls to be girls”.  Creative play, tea parties and learning basic social graces seem like a thing of the past.

Enter “Polished”.  As described in her website, Peggy Hinshaw is a daughter, wife, mother and friend. Prior to staying home with her own two daughters, Peggy was a National Corporate Training and Executive Development Senior Manager for a major financial institution. Throughout her experience training others while also providing senior executive development and internal consulting, Peggy recognized and appreciated the one thing that set those who flourished apart from those who did not – a deep seated understanding of social etiquette.

You can learn more about the courses at Polished, offered for every age, by clicking the link above or visiting http://www.polishedkids.com/index.html.  To sign up for our April 11th or 18th Doll & Me Design and Tea/Polished Etiquette class, call us at 937-431-1888.  $25 reservation is required; it will be deducted from your class fee of $55, balance due the day of the event. Hurry, seating is limited and spaces are filling up quickly!

I-Do Boutique

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

We’re pretty impressed with a great resource for anyone getting married.  Brigid-Horne Nestor, owner/founder of I-Do Boutique in Cincinnati has found a niche in the bridal industry.  Ever wonder how you are going to find that perfect photographer, reception site, or florist?  Brigid has put together a great (complimentary!)  resource nook at her Madison Avenue boutique.  Literally a mini library of Cincinnati’s finest wedding and event professionals who are invited to display their work in the boutique.  These vendors have been carefully selected based on reputation, experience, client service, personality and style.  Many of them do not participate in bridal shows and some do not even advertise at all. These vendors are so good that word of mouth and referrals from past satisfied clients make up the bulk of their business.  Brigid also provides complete wedding planning services for her clients.

You will find a display of JennaClaire bridal accessories as well as our covered notebook for keeping all your bridal information organized.

The I-Do Boutique is located at 2009 Madison Rd, Cincinnati OH 45208.  Phone is 513-871-6400.  Go to http://www.i-do-boutique.com/ to visit her website.  Enjoy!

Mark Garber Photography

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

With our brides putting together details of their summer & fall weddings, we wanted to highlight our good friends at Mark Garber Photography.  Mark and his wife Jennifer are an amazing, multi-award-winning photography team who have been featured in national magazines, professional photography magazine articles, and have a seemingly endless list of accolades.

I have had the honor of working with both Mark and Jennifer commercially and personally. Being around the wedding industry I have seen them “in action” at many-a-wedding, and my family photos taken by the Garbers are truly priceless treasures.  Merging their different talents, “their shooting style is a fusion of editorial, romantic and fashion photography, which they have blended into their own unique look”, as they describe themselves.

Located in Springboro, Ohio, you may contact them at 937-748-8445 or garbersonline@gmail.com.  See their portfolio at www.markgarber.com and prepare to be impressed.

Buzzing about JennaClaire

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

It’s always nice to hear others compliment our styles and quality, especially when we are hand-selected by a website specializing in product reviews.  We were thrilled to have been discovered by Angela from  Bees Who Buzz, a blog which reviews everything from fashion to makeup to food.  Angela and her team review products they find interesting and share their thoughts with their readers. Check out her site for all the wonderful reviews and giveaways!  We found some great gift ideas there (for others and, well, for ourselves!).

Speaking of giveaways, be sure to enter the Bees Who Buzz drawing to win a $25 gift certificate to JennaClaire by clicking here!  Hurry, you have until March 8, 2010 to enter.

If you or someone you know would like to review a JennaClaire product please contact us at info@jennaclaire.com.

Mother/Daughter Design Sessions

Friday, February 19th, 2010

We would like to thank the Miller ladies for stopping by the studio to design with us!  Lane Ann Miller and her two daughters (Mackencie and Jessie) were in town for the Cedarville University ‘Lil Sibs weekend.  Visiting our area from Trenton, Kentucky, they decided to incorporate a little “girl time” into their visit and design bags together.  We had a great time with them and  hope they visit us the next time they are in town!

Spring/Summer Fashion Trends

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

This is Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Week at Bryant Park,  but we would rather focus on what’s hot for Spring 2010!  Here is a peek at what’s all the rage for Spring/Summer 2010.

It’s time to think color…hot pinks and tropical neon colors are going to be popular this year.  Glam up any outfit easily with scarves and handbags (we like that!).

Don’t forget about classic nude tones to offset bright accessories or clothes.  Neutral has made a big comeback and is the perfect partner when pared with bright colors.

Along with neons and neutrals, metallics were the talk of Paris Fashion Week as designers debuted their Spring/Summer Collections.  Golds & silvers add a shimmer to any palette!

We Tied “The Knot”

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Knot_logoWe are pleased to announce that you can now find us on TheKnot.com, TheWeddingChannel.com, and PartySpot.com!  We are located in the Gifts & Registries category and you can find us in the Dayton, Cincinnati, & Northern Kentucky pages.  As more brides are searching for unusual gifts for brides and a special venue for a bridesmaid gathering, we thought these venues were a perfect way to help them find us.

Know a bride who is planning a wedding?  Brides earn 10% off when 5 or more items are purchased (no party is required to earn this discount).  Monogramming is available, and we have a large range of gift ideas.  Prices range from $35 & under for darling accessories, $49-115 for totes, and handbags in the $49-96 range.  We also work with heirloom fabrics such as mother’s bridal gown or lace from her veil to create a special accessory that can be passed down from generations to come. Call us for more details (937-431-1888) or stop in the studio for more details.

If you are looking for a fun girls’ event for your maids, ask us about studio bridal parties.  We work with your budget- you can have the girls design the same bags or offer a range of products that fit your budget.  If anyone is unable to attend they can now design their bag right online from the comforts of home.

The possibilities are endless- give us a call to see how you can create a gift that your girls will use long after your wedding date!

What Sets Us Apart… Our Attention to Detail!

Strap detail on "Buckle Down"

Strap detail on "Buckle Down"

What’s to love about our bags?  Besides the awesome fabric selections in the last post, our workmanship is what separates us from all others in our industry!

Did you know…every bag is hand-cut and then sewn by a single seamstress from start to finish.  Basically, two people are involved in the construction of your bag- which gives our products a very personalized element.  Your bag is then inspected by the seamstress, a production manager, and a workroom manager before you receive it.

What does it take to sew for our company?  We only hire seamstresses with the best skills & sewing knowledge.  They then are trained extensively through our training program.  This includes cutting techniques, sewing and finishing techniques, and finally being placed on a design “team”.

Take a look at our finishing techniques for yourself.  It is what sets us apart from the others.  Many have asked if our bags are mass-produced, and we take this as a compliment.  Mass produced bags have a consistent look, or quality, to them.  Top-stitching is consistently even, edges & seams are pressed professionally, straps are reinforced, and the many added details (such as the way we attach our straps to the outside of the Buckle Down, for instance) all show a high level of professionalism in our work.  Our team has a passion for sewing and for our products- and it shows!  Each product comes with a signed card of authenticity from the seamstress who created your design.

We will always guarantee our workmanship.  Normal wear and tear is expected with any product, but if you ever have an issue related to the original workmanship of our product we will make it right.  We want  you to be thrilled with your bag!
